The final of 5 annual compilations of highlights from the lavishly illustrated New York Weekly Herald, issued to accompany the first weekly issue of the year. Highlights include views of San Francisco, Monterey, CA, Santa Barbara, CA, and Santa Fe, NM; a battle scene of American troops advancing upon Chapultepec; an elaborate keyed plan of the Battle of Buena Vista; and a view of "the Halls of the Montezumas, Head Quarters of the American Army" (29 May 1847). None traced at auction since 1925.
