Additional Details

We don't see many Mexican War recruitment broadsides. This one summons the commanders of a Pennsylvania militia brigade to gather their troops for the purpose of volunteering: "As we are now at war with Mexico, it is to be expected that there will be a sufficient number of volunteers without the necessity of resorting to a draft." A sample form is provided so commanders can record each soldier's name, town, and age.
