Additional Details

Juan Pablo de Anaya (1785-1850) was a commander in the Mexican struggle for independence, and had been sent to New Orleans to seek support from the United States. Later that year, Anaya assisted Jackson in the defense of New Orleans when the British attacked in 1815.
