This portrait shares a pose and caption with a better-known Italian portrait engraving of Palafox by Niccolò Mogalli. The caption reads "Vera Effigies V. Servi D. Illmi. ac Rmi D. D. Joanis de Palafox et Mendoza." The artist and engraver credits on the present example seem to have been obscured in the plate; the artist may read "Viveros." This may be a pirated Mexican copy of the Mogalli print. None traced in OCLC.
