Includes official decrees from the federal government of Santa Anna, as well as local Chihuahua material. Highlights include the final ratified Treaty of Mesilla (22 August issue) and other articles on the Gadsden Purchase; articles on the Walker expedition to Baja California (22 June and 12 September); the French filibuster expedition to Sonora under Raousset-Boulbon (several issues), and numerous discussions of 'indios barbaros.' Among the broadsides are two by Governor Angel Trias addressing the Raousset-Boulbon, Walker, and Alvarez rebellions, filed after the 21 March issue. OCLC shows only two institutions holding runs of this periodical; none traced at auction.
