A list of surveying instruments to be ordered for the purpose of the border survey conducted in the wake of the Mexican-American War. More than twenty instruments are listed, plus a copy of a 1849 nautical almanac. Some French suppliers are recommended. The instruments were to be delivered to a Señor Robles, possibly future president José Manuel Susano de la Luz Robles Pezuela (1817-1862), an engineer.
