Expanded second edition of Ward's "Mexico in 1827." A few interesting pages are devoted to Texas: "The ultimate incorporation of Texas with the Anglo-American States may . . . be regarded as by no means an improbable event" (page II:308). It also includes General Arthur Wavell's "Account of the Province of Texas" as an appendix (pages II:431-440). The illustrations are after drawings by the author's wife Emily Swinburne Ward.
