An unusual late 19th-century album that contains a host of archaeological, ethnographic, and landscape images in the Middle East, comprising 20 prints of Egyptian ruins, such as Luxor, Karnak, Thebes, and Memmonium, as well as picturesque views of Assuan; more than 20 scenes of Palestine, particularly Jaffa and Jerusalem, including the Mosque of Omar, Garden of Gethsemane, Mount of Olives, the Fifth Station, and the Wailing Wall (with Hebrew text incised on the ancient stones); bazaar scenes in Tunisia; and several topographic views of Algeria.<
