A wide-ranging album with 44 hand-tinted scenes from Egypt, Palestine, and Turkey, including landscapes, ancient ruins, natives on camels, and tourists, as well as the Sphinx, Cairo streets, the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, and the Hagia Sophia. Hand-colored albumen prints, each measuring approximately 8 1/4x10 1/4 inches (21x26 cm.), and the reverse, approximately 11 with Bonfils' credit, 9 with Zangaki's credit, and 6 with Sébah's credit, and more than 30 with a caption, all in the negative. Oblong folio, red lacquer covers with gilt highlights and ivory inlay depicting a landscape and bird motif as well as the word "Orient;" leather backstrip; all edges gilt. Circa 1880
