Letter recounts the murder of 4 slaves by their master. Having camped after a long march, several soldiers set out in search of food and come upon a plantation where they find the bodies of 2 Black men hanged and 2 women clubbed to death. They come upon a fifth slave who survived the slaughter and related what happened. Full transcript available.
