Signed by Captain George England, commanding officer of Company F, of the 26th Regiment, U.S. Colored Troops, this document states that Clarkson, a colored volunteer was killed in action on July 7th, 1864, during an expedition to John''s Island, S.C. Clarkson was born in Newark, New Jersey and was 25 years old. According to this document, he left nothing.
