A rare cover, only one whole example of this cover exists, and it was sold in these rooms in our last sale of Printed and Manuscript African Americana. The statement, "Cotton defeated Packenham" (sic) refers to the battle of New Orleans 1815, when Andrew Jackson trounced British general Edward Pakenham.
