A weekly summary of naval news issued by the Navy's Office of Public Relations. This issue features 4 blurbs on Dorie Miller. On page 4, "Doris 'Dorie' Miller, the 'unnamed Negro messman hero' . . . has left the ranks of the 'unknown' forever. Navy Secretary Knox commended the 22-year-old Texan for bravery." At the end of the bulletin are three blurbs using Miller's heroism to call into question the Navy's discriminatory recruitment policies.
