Frontispiece from a painting by the compiler-editor, full-page photograph of James Reese Europe's band from the 15th Regiment of "Harlem Hell-Fighters," and numerous other sepia and half-tone illustrations from photographs. Large, oblong 4to, original cloth-backed stiff red wrappers, stapled; a couple of small damp spots; one at the top of the cloth on the front cover, and a few at the edges of the text. A lovely copy of a book usually found in deplorable condition because of its size and fragile production. New York, 1919
