Letter Signed, as Counselor to King Henry II of Navarre, to Charles Chabot, in French, concerning news about the defense against Emperor Charles V. 1 page, tall 4to; address panel verso, inlaid. Tencin. Autograph Endorsement Signed, "This copy conforms to the original in faith of which we have signed this day the fifteenth of June 1744. The Card'l of Tencin," in French, at end of letter. The letter, a copy of letter from King Louis XV authorizing Prime Minister Tencin and Minister of State Jean-Henri Orry de Fulvy to negotiate a treaty with Prussia, in French, in unknown hand. Additionally signed by Orry. 3 pages, 4to, written on a folded sheet. Schuman. Typed Letter Signed, "Schuman," as President, to Leroy E.
