Additional Details

As it unspools to nearly 11 feet, the map takes a continuous journey upriver following the entire 2600 mile course of the Mississippi from the Gulf of Mexico to its source at Lake Itaska, Minnesota. Many of the details shown along the way include plantations, towns, forts, landings and mileage indication the farther one travels from the Delta. Well preserved in its beautiful original oak case. Holland, "The Mississippi River in Maps and Views," pp. 173, 176-177.
