SECOND EDITION (MORMONS.) [The Book of Mormon.] 12mo, contemporary sheep, moderate wear, gilt "Book of Mormon" faintly visible on backstrip; lacking title page and final two leaves Z10-11, lacking free endpapers, corners cropped with loss of many page numbers, moderate dampstaining and edge wear, pin holes through pages 323-348; illegible early pencil inscription on front pastedown. Additional Details

Second edition--the first to list Joseph Smith as translator rather than author, and the first printed within the faith. It was extensively revised from the first edition after comparison with the original manuscript.
