An issue of the first newspaper published for the Mormon community at Nauvoo. It was launched to provide local news in counterpoint to the hostile Warsaw Signal. John Taylor served as editor. This issue includes a long discussion of the efforts to arrest Joseph Smith for the assassination attempt on Governor Boggs, as well the Nauvoo financial report signed in type by Joseph Smith as mayor.
