Contains dozens of melodies, most of them named, such as "The Wood Cutter," "Washington's March 1793," "Hell Gate," "Bonna Lass," "The Flowers of Edingbourough," "St. Pattrick's Day," "The Rolling Horn Pipe," "Grenadier's March," "The Double Dutch," "Yanky Doodle," and more. A 19th-century note on a later page reads "Belonged to David Sawin, born in 1745, played fife"; two other pages are noted "Westminster." David Sawin (1745-1844) of Westminster, MA served in the Revolution.
