Additional Details

A very interesting pair of collections of classic minstrel songs and dances. Both give indications of how one was actually supposed to dance to the music: 'Opposite Lady and Gent. Advance and retire, Chassez (sashay) to the right and left, cross over, Chassez and back again. Return to your place, Set to your partners; turn your partners with both hands. The other six Dancers do the same.' This is quite nice in that we can actually see how these early pieces were performed and danced.
