Metronome magazine had its readers pick their favorite instrumentalists each year, and gathered them for a recording session. This session took place at New York's RCA Studios on 3 January 1949. Parker is seen with guitarist Billy Bauer, bassist Eddie Safranski, and pianist Lennie Tristano.
