The rapper Todd Anthony "Too $hort" Shaw came to fame in Oakland in 1985 as one of the early leaders of the West Coast hip hop scene. Memphis rapper Patrick "Gangsta Pat" Hall's first release was in 1991. This boxing-style poster for a show at Club Paradise in Memphis apparently dates from that same year, when June 8 fell on a Saturday.
