This new melody was composed to be played in counterpoint to "Washington's March" (a.k.a. "The President's March" or "Hail, Columbia"--see the previous lot). A bar of the earlier melody is included for reference. Illustrated with allegorical figures of America and Britain shaking hands, this commemorated the end of the War of 1812.
