John William "Blind" Boone (1864-1927) was a pianist from Missouri who was blind from the age of six months. Much like his older peer Blind Tom Wiggins, he began touring as a child prodigy at the age of 15, and as the leader of Blind Boone Concert Company became a very popular attraction from the 1880s onward, playing a role in the development of the ragtime style.
