Additional Details

Established in 1865, the Moore and Burgess Minstrels performed at St. James' Hall, Piccadilly in one continuous season for more than thirty-five years. They billed themselves as 'The Oldest Established Entertainment in the World' and added "Fun without Vulgarity." This chromolithograph was no doubt done from a photograph of the group. This was the arrangement the company would actually have on stage. In fact the photo of their final performance in June of 1900 shows them in almost this exact arrangement.
