four uncommon engravings of ira aldridge (1807-1867), the noted african American Shakespearean actor, together with a copy of the New York Clipper for August 24, 1867, a key entertainment journal of the day, featuring an excellent biographical sketch with a very handsome engraving of him on the first page. The engravings depict Aldridge as Aaron from Titus Andronicus (2 copies) as Mungo, in the Padlock, and as Othello.
