Additional Details

The Real Colegio Seminario de San Telmo was a Spanish school which trained orphans for careers in the navy as navigators and sailors. Most of this volume is a detailed alumni register, listing the graduates from 1682 onwards with summaries of their naval careers--the large majority of them spending time in the Americas, as might be expected. The first volume of 53 pages lists graduates through 1742; 4 copies are traced in OCLC. The appended second volume in 42 pages updates the work through 1763; we trace no examples in OCLC.
