(NAVY.) Designs for the 1926 restoration of the USS Constitution. 5 blueline prints, 30 inches high and between 52 to 87 inches wide; two with moderate dampstaining and wear, the other 3 with minimal wear. Boston, 1925-1926
Plans for the historic ship's first major restoration under the command of Lieutenant John A. Lord. One of the six original frigates in the United States Navy when it was built in 1797, it served in the War of 1812 and remains docked in Boston today as a museum. This lot includes three plans which were newly drafted in 1925-1926, and two 1920s copies of the ship's early plans.
