A seminal work on naval uniforms, including the full set of regulations in effect at that time, and finely executed plates, most of them lithographed by C. Schuessele after drawings by J. Goldsborough Bruff, and printed by the Philadelphia firm of P.S. Duval & Co. This example is lacking one of the two "Full Dress" plates, and possibly one other plate. Sabin 68960.
