(NEW DEAL PROGRAMS: CCC BOYS)
A group of 10 photographs depicting the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Developed as a component of the New Deal under President Roosevelt, the CCC supplied manual labor jobs relating to the conservation and development of natural resources in rural government-owned land. The images depict strapping shirtless crews at work on infrastructure improvements, as well as instructors, survey teams, and the crews under inspection. Silver press prints, the images each measuring approximately 7 3/4x9 1/2 inches (19.7x24.1 cm.), nearly all of the sheets slightly larger, most with a caption, some including the location, and date in pencil (one is typed), four with an affixed descriptive caption label, and each with the Culver Pictures stamps, labels, and barcode labels on verso. 1933-42
