Additional Details

Holland Burt (1790-1855) of Walpole, NH was a furniture maker with a regional reputation who also built homes. The volume is not signed on the cover, but a receipt laid in shows him as the recorder of these accounts, and he signs at least one account as "received." Many of the pages are headed "Walpole." The entries here include making shelves and seats, patterns for clock parts, beds, bed stands, benches, butter tables, drawers, picture frames, a case with six drawers, cases, troughs, coffins, frames, cupboards, chests with drawers, sinks, trunks, crutches, and more. He also sets glass, repairs tables, seats, and doors, planes boards, lays clapboards, repairs coffee mills, stains counters, hangs doors and gates, repairs churns, varnishes, repairs shades, polishes, and more. Burt's purchases for supplies such as planks and nails are also recorded.
