Additional Details

This productive iron mine had been in operation since the early 18th century, and had been a major supply source for the Continental Army during the Revolution. By this point, it was owned by the Replogle Steel Company and then the Warren Foundry and Pipe Corporation. The reports include diagrams of mine shafts, production tables, notes on ore reserves, and more. The earliest volume also gives information for other Replogle mines. with--Monthly summary book of ore mined and shipped by the Mount Hope Mining Company. 16 manuscript pages. Oblong folio, 13 x 16 inches, cover worn, 1867-1880 and 16 payroll sheets from the unrelated Ringwood Iron Works in Passaic County, each signed by dozens of workers, some quite worn, 1880-84.
