Written in pidgin Dutch-English, these slips of paper document the children born to Johannes Slot and his successive wives Willemtie and Carstyntie from 1710 to 1741, as well as six children from later generations from 1751 to 1792. The data seems to add substantially to the standard family genealogies. The family name is here spelled Slot or Slut, but today it is generally Sloat. with--a bond signed by Jacobes Slot of nearby Haverstraw, NY, 1760.
