A plate from a scarce album of views by Thomas Pownall, "Six Remarkable Views in the Provinces of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania." These were later packaged with other prints under the title Scenographia Americana in 1768. The artist was a colonial governor and notable cartographer.
