Additional Details

A charming advertisement from the first months of the Erie Canal. The Utica and Schenectady and Erie Canal Packet Boat Companies boasted "the only regular Daily Line of Packet Boats" on the canal, with service from Schenectady to Utica in a mere 24 hours, and from Buffalo to Utica in 72 hours. "Travellers will be careful not to mistake any other Boats which run on this route occasionally in connexion with Freight Boats." Illustrated with a woodcut of a canal boat being towed across the historic Second Genessee Aqueduct in Rochester, which has since been converted for automobile traffic as the Broad Street Bridge. Not traced in OCLC or elsewhere.
