This account book was kept over 84 years by three generations of the Parsons family: John Barnes Parsons (1737-1799), Ambrose Parsons (1770-1844), and Jonathan Ambrose Parsons (1810-1882), farmers in the East Hampton hamlet of Springs. It includes toward the end a two-page family register listing births and deaths from 1737 to 1815. Provenance: Gift from Jonathan A. Parsons's son George Ambrose Parsons (1859-1942) to East Hampton historian Jeannette Rattray.
