Album entitled St. George Ferry Terminal, Staten Island with 110 professional photographs of the 69th Street Ferry Terminal and marine construction of the Jay Street Terminal, in Brooklyn.
Includes sweeping scenes the Hudson and East Rivers, numerous derricks on site, crews on barges, installation of steel sheet pilings, period parking lots with oversized autos, scenes of the boroughs from the river, and a few shots of a terminal interior. Silver prints, the images measuring 7 1/4x9 inches (18.4x22.9 cm.), the sheets slightly larger, linen backed, with captions, inventory numbers, and dates in the negative, and several with a Weiztman's Photo Shop, Stapleton hand stamp on mount verso. Oblong 4to, leatherette with a partial typewritten label on the front cover; 3-ring binding. 1947-49

In 1910 Alfred Stieglitz photographed a New York City ferryboat loaded with passengers ready to disembark. Today ferries provide an alternate way for Brooklyn- and Richmond-ites to commute to Manhattan.
