Additional Details

Robert Moses was an unelected transportation official who, more than any other single person, created the infrastructure of modern New York City--for good and for ill. Here, in the wake of his successful completion of the Triborough Bridge, he is awarded the George S. Bartlett Award for Outstanding Contribution to Highway Progress. The award was created in 1931 and is still bestowed annually.
