Additional Details

Marine Midland Bank had about 150 employees in the World Trade Center on the 23rd and 24th floors. They successfully evacuated after the 1993 bombing (see Brandt, "Lessons from the Inferno," in Journal of Property Management, July 1993). Marine Midland soon left the World Trade Center; in 1995, their space was taken by the insurance firm SCOR U.S., which remained there until the tower collapsed in 2001. This packet includes a cover page, three pages of narrative description on the proposed work, a construction and demolition plan, and mechanicals for the bank's corner of the 23rd floor.
Also included are 21 similar plans from 1989 by the design firm of Mancini Duffy for offices of Hong Kong Shanghai Bank (Marine Midland's parent company) in 5 World Trade Center, one of the adjacent smaller towers which was damaged in the attack and later razed. Both banks are now operated under the HSBC name.
