Additional Details

The ephemeral nature of broadside maps such as this one has rendered them quite rare; we are unable to find any other pre-1850 Bleecker firm maps of Lower Manhattan ever coming to the market. James Bleecker and his sons were apparently the foremost real estate auctioneers during this formative period in Manhattan history; a few examples of their maps are preserved at the NYPL, MCNY, and NYHS.
