Robert R. Story (1806-1874) was a Massachusetts artisan who was raising a family in New York by 1834 according to the 1850 census. He appears at this address in the 1859 New York business directory, and is buried in Green-Wood Cemetery. His calling card is illustrated with a mounted fox-hunter and his hounds, as well as the implements of his trade. It also promises "Engine Hose made to order."
