For the intrepid late 19th-century traveler who enjoyed rigorous hiking and excursions into the bush, a trip to New Zealand and Australia were "de rigeur." The photographer took many snapshots, which were complemented with an array of stunning commercial views by a host of local photographers. The panoramics are especially lovely as are the scenes of Maori women and the pictures of the natural landscapes.
