William Walker was the American adventurer who invaded Nicaragua with a small group of soldiers in 1855 and soon installed himself as president. His short reign was terminated by the military forces of Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Honduras, and he fled in May 1857. He was executed upon his return to the area in 1860. This lot includes: 10 issues of the Buletin de Noticias published in Cojutepeque, El Salvador, June to December 1856 (including 2 duplicates), largely related to Walker and 7 proclamations issued in Guatemala, 1854-60, most by president Rafael Carrera, most relating to Walker.
