Additional Details

Edward M. Paxton (1824-1905) was chief justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and also invested in North Dakota land in Cass, Traill, Barnes, and Burleigh counties. Each of his 24 parcels is represented here by a two-page spread with an original survey map on a printed grid, and notes on the topography and soil. Added in Paxton's hand are notes indicating the parcel's location and cost, and how it has been sold or leased.
