Additional Details

Three original fashion sketches by graphic artist, illustrator, and designer Fritzi Löw. The first is for a pleated dress with matching jacket and accessories, shown upper portion front, and full profile; beneath the sketch is a description of the design, in German, in Löw's hand. The second design is of a model holding a rose and wearing a winter coat with matching fur collar and muff, signed "Fritzi Löw/VIII/Alberta.41/ K20, in pencil; the third sketch, also (faintly) signed in pencil, shows a side view of a woman in a pink multi-buttoned jacket and skirt with matching hat.
In 1915, while studying at the Kunstgewerbeschule, Löw held a fashion exhibition and co-authored an album of designs ("Die Mode, 1914-1915"); throughout her career, she remained in close contact with the Wiener Werkstätte group, designing fashion as well as jewelry, textiles, glass and more, and illustrating books for the main publishing houses of the day.
