Pair of albums containing more than 250 photographs relating to the construction of the Panama Canal, Culebra Cut; with a plethora of photographs depicting the local landscape and people; several multi-part panoramas, including one of the canal itself; medium-format topographic views; pictures of natives; scores of images of American surveyors and engineers at play and at work; the baseball team "Six Aola"; and much more; one album includes photographs of a family back in the U. S. A. Silver prints, some on vellum, cyanotypes (14) and printing-out paper prints (3), 71/2x12 inches (19x30.5 cm.) and smaller, the tripartite panorama of the canal is 71/2x35 inches (19x88.9 cm.); the photographs in one album contain extensive handwritten notations.
