Album entitled "Paris Exposition 1889," with 57 prints of displays celebrating industry and invention, many in the elegant Art Nouveau setting of the Grand Palais. Comprising 25 interior views of exhibitions devoted to Beaux Art sculpture and photography, displays of consumer products (shoes, silver, porcelain, textiles, and religious art from various countries, including a gigantic cask of wine), and scenes of the Palais des Machines. Also includes 32 exotic outdoor views of pavillions dedicated to the architecture, crafts and culture of Algeria, Cambodia, China, Egypt, Greece, Hawaii, Japan, Java, Portugal, Siam, Serbia and France; and 2 glimpses of the Eiffel Tower (which was newly built for the fair), and laborers posing alongside the generators responsible for keeping the building operational. Albumen prints, sizes ranging from 8 1/4x10 3/8 (the majority) to 10 3/4x15 inches (21x25.4 to 27.3x38.1 cm.), and the reverse, mounted recto/verso, each with a caption and all but one with an inventory number, in the negative.
