CHARLES M. SCHULZ (1922-2000)
Patriotic Peanuts Gang. Final production publicity art used for a publication promoting the animated miniseries This is America, Charlie Brown! (Bill Melendez Productions, 1988-1989). Silkscreen print. 16 1/2 x 12 inches.

This hand-pulled silkscreen print features a charming image of fan favorites Charlie Brown, Lucy, Snoopy, and Woodstock in Revolutionary War era garb marching with fife and drums. The print was produced in small numbers and distributed for use on covers of TV schedule booklets and articles the week the first episode premiered.

The protective overlay has a variety of production-related notes, including ""Movies Section"", instructions to drop out the blue background, and a memo dated October 20th from "D.W." to "N.B." saying "Saving this only cuz it might have some $ value."

While this is not original art, it is a very rare piece of published Peanuts under camera art. This fun, patriotic image of the Peanuts gang is loaded with charm and decorative value.
