Additional Details

Illustrated with 375 facsimile signatures, among them 9 prominent Jewish merchants: Benjamin Levy, Samson Levy, Joseph Jacobs, Hyman Levy Jr., David Franks, Mathias Bush, Michael Gratz, Bernard Gratz, and Moses Mordecai. The original agreement has long been regarded as an important moment in the early Jewish history of Philadelphia (c.f. Morais, Jews of Philadelphia, page 22). This broadside facsimile was painstakingly lithographed by P.S. Duval. We find only one other record of this or any other facsimile being offered at auction since 1913, at a Swann sale, 5 June 2008, lot 292; 3 copies in OCLC.
