Additional Details

Deed from Thomas and Richard Penn to William Branson for a small tract between Sassafras (Race), Vine, Delaware (Columbus), and Front Streets, now bisected by the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. The sons of William Penn were absentee proprietors of the colony at this point, so the deed was signed on their behalf by James Hamilton as lieutenant governor.
